The Helmsman and the water drop: Running Drupal on Kubernetes
Workshops are limited to 30 participants. Please add your name to the attendees list.
Do you keep hearing "Kubernetes" a lot these days?
Are you curious what exactly it does and what do we use it for?
Do you want to run your Drupal site on Kubernetes?
If you answer yes to any of the above, then this session is for you. I'll walk through the basics of Kubernetes, how to prepare your site to deploy on Kubernetes, the pros and cons of doing so, followed by a demo where I deploy a simple Drupal 8 site on Kubernetes.
Prerequisites
Some idea about containers is preferred, but not mandatory. I'll cover this part quickly during the workshop.
You have deployed a Drupal site before.
Takeaways
- Is Kubernetes a good fit for me?
- What Kubernetes solutions exist out there
NOTE
If you want to try out building a Kubernetes cluster in any of the popular cloud(like AWS) during the workshop, you might need to have an account setup before the workshop.
Update: Github repo with instructions on how to launch Drupal on a local K8s cluster. https://github.com/badri/drupal-k8s
